This beloved lady never married, but dedicated her life to the raising of her sister's orphan children. Her sister, Loucrecia Roberts Daniel, died early in life as did her husband, Absalom Daniel, leaving several small children. Ethelyn/Ethalinda was both mother and father to the children. She was much loved and much admired by her nieces and nephews and her great nieces and nephews. She was a herbalist, gathering materials from surrounding woods and fields to make her homemade remedies.

She was widely known throughout the county. The funeral was conducted at the family cemetery by the Rev. W. W. Aldridge. She is survived by one brother, Robert Roberts."
