Henry was the son of Herbert A. and Almeda Texas Mededith. His parents are also buried in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He shares a stone with his wife, Mary Berdie Parker Meredith.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Friday, 23 January 1953:

Henry H. Meredith, 59, retired Missouri Pacific employee of 508 Louisiana Street, died Thursday at 5:45 p.m. in the Missouri Pacific Hospital, following an illness of three weeks. Mr. Meredith was born in Albabama [sic], May 3, 1893. He worked with the bridge and builders gang of Missouri Pacific for twenty years, prior to retiring in 1945.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Hassel [sic] and Foster Chapel with Archie Waldrum, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial will be in the Elkhart Cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home until funeral time.

Pallbearers will be Bill Meredith, Jack Meredith, T. J. Meredith, Eldean Salmon, J. W. Robinson, J. T. Box, Henry Box and Wayne Curry.

Survivors are one son, Homer Meredith, Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Bill Curry of Palestine; one brother, E. E. "Dick" Meredith of Elkhart; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Box of Palestine, Mrs. J. R. Parker of Fort Worth and Mrs. Ira Salmon of Elkhart; and two grandchildren, James and Larry Curry, both of Palestine.
