Almeda was the daughter of James Monroe and Mary J. Conway Hood. Her father is buried in Stockdale Cemetery in Stockdale in Wilson Co, TX. She married Herbert A. Meredith 8 November 1873 in Brazos County. Their sons, Henry H. Meredith and James Monroe Meredith, and daughters, Minnie Lee Meredith Box and Eula Meredith Dismuke, are also buried in Garden of Memories. Their son, Ernest Newton Meredith, and daughter, Cora Elizabeth Meredith Weisinger, are buried in Pilgrim Cemetery. Their daughter, Lula Meredith Salmon, is buried in Guiceland Cemetery. According to her death certificate, Almeda died 11 February 1930 in Elkhart, TX.
