Lena M. Heyen, 87, of Fairmont, Neb., died Monday, Aug. 21, 2007. Born June 8, 1920, in Boggstown, she was the daughter of James and Daisy (Laymon) Swango. She married Roy Cowins, and he preceded her in death. She married Earl Heyen, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Arthur (wife, Susie) Cowins of Greensburg, Jerry Cowins of Ventura, Calif., James (wife, Karen) Cowins of Lincoln, Neb., and Greg (wife, Pamela) Cowins of Durant, Okla.; daughter, Deborah Verhage of Fairmont; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were entrusted to Murphy Parks Funeral Home of Shelbyville, Indiana.
