Emma was born February 19, 1866 to Morten and Anna (Anderson) Olson in Sogndal, Norway. She met and married Ommund Eiel (OE) Oftedahl (son of Eiel Tobias and Ingeborg Oftedahl) on November 19, 1888 in Vernon County, Wisconsin, U.S.A. She gave birth to five children while living at Grandview Farm at the corner of Highway Y and Irish Ridge Road: Ernest Tilford, Albin Mandius, Ida Emelia, Mabel D., and Oscar Clarence.
Emma died of apoplexy (stroke) on April 5, 1900, at the tender age of 34.
She is buried in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery, across County Road B from the church. This, at the time, was the Norwegian Synod Lutheran Chruch, and the building is now gone. Bethel, at the time was called United Lutheran Church. This info from the 1896 plat.
