Ophie O. "Oak" Bailey, 86, of Elkview went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, in CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

He was a retired operator from Operating Engineers Local 132. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Pinch and was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a life member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Major and Elsie Thomas Bailey; wife, Fannie Margaret Bailey; sister, Emma Jane Dunlap; and stepson, Bobby Griffith.

Surviving: stepdaughter, Linda Taylor of Hurricane; sister, Grathel "Gret" Lipscomb of Pinch; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Linda Amkeney; three grandchildren, Travis and Tracy Griffith and Darryl Reusch; one great-grandchild, Marissa Reusch; and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Douglas Neary and Pastor Lee Swor officiating. Burial will follow in Elk Hills Memorial Park, Big Chimney.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
