Betty Lou Brown-Doll, age 84 passed away peacefully June 10, 2020, in North Richland Hills, Texas. She was born on January 13, 1936, in Brownington, Missouri to George T. and Grace Brown. She grew up in Brownington and graduated from Deepwater High School in 1953. In November 1955 Betty married Maurice Lyle Doll, at White Oak Methodist Church in Urich, Missouri.
Betty and Maurice had two children, Jana Doll (Euless, Texas) and Steven Doll (Nashville, Tennessee). Betty and Maurice resided in multiple cities over the course of their marriage, including Kansas City (MO), Dallas (TX), Cincinnati (OH), Garland (TX), Kilgore (TX), LaFayette (LA) and ultimately made their final home in Euless, Texas.
Throughout her adult life, Betty worked in retail and was always recognized as a top salesperson on a local, regional, and national basis. She spent most of her career working for Brown Shoes (Caleres) and retired at the age of 74.
Betty never met a stranger and truly loved people. But, above all else, she was devoted to her family and the numerous dogs, cats, rabbits, gerbils, snakes, lizards, and horses her family acquired throughout the years.
Betty was unwavering in her love and support, possessed an ability to fight through physical pain that she endured for years and was a beautiful woman inside and out. The world always seemed a little more tolerable with her in it. She was a true woman of grace, strength, love, and devotion.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her son Steven (d. 2009), husband Maurice (d. 2013), brother-in-law Frank Henny (d. 2019) and sister-in-law Vera Brown (d. 2020).
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jana Doll (Euless, Texas), her brother, George T. Brown, Jr. (Raytown, Missouri), her daughter-in-law, Andi Doll (Nashville, Tennessee), sister-in-law Irma Woods and her husband Marion (Warrensburg, Missouri), sister-in-law Shirley Henny (Clinton, Missouri), many nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved puppy BJ.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 27th at 11am at White Oak Cemetery in Urich, Missouri where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Maurice.
