Doris Alexander Lee was born on June 8, 1931 in New London to George and Fannye Pierce Alexander. She died on June 10, 2020 in Tyler, two days after her 89th birthday. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler with Dr. David Dykes officiating. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Doris graduated, as Valedictorian, from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, St. Mary’s Business School in Marshall, and from Eastfield College in Mesquite. She resided in Dallas for forty years where she was an active member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church was employed by Biggers, Beasley Law Firm in Dallas for 18 years.
She and Dick moved to Tyler in 1998 where they both were active members of Green Acres Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Dick Lee; son, Kenneth Mark Lee (Terri) of Rockwall; daughter, Janis Laremore (Gill) of Rockwall; daughter, Melinda Hands (Thomas) of Tyler; grandsons, Mark Lee (Carol); Jordan Laremore (Mallory); Jacob Laremore (Laura), Adam Hands (Calie) and Eric Hands (Madysen); granddaughters, Kristi Lee, Brooke Woods (Lance), and Amanda Masters (Andy); thirteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Shirley Sivert (Delbert) of LaPlata, MO.; by one sister-in-law, Betty Alexander of Longview; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, ten siblings and one granddaughter, Ali Dahl.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. prior to service at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler.
