Fred P. Hansel, 95, Beatrice, died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1993, at Beatrice Community Hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1898 at Pickrell. He married Emma Hertlein March 26, 1919. He spent all his life on the farm in Cortland, Firth and Adams area. He moved to Beatrice on April 11, 1986 due to ill health and then moved to Good Samaritan Center on July 11, 1991.
Survivors: daughter, Goldie Schmidt, Beatrice; sons, Harold and wife Mae Hansel and Fred Jr. and wife Lois, all of Lincoln, and Earl and wife Dolores Hansel of San Diego, Calif.; brother, Herbert Hansel, Beatrice; son-in-law, Chester Sack, Beatrice; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, on Jan. 7, 1988; by his parents, Joseph and Caroline Hansel; by a son, Harlan Hansel; a daughter, Gladys Sack; sisters, Martha Albers, Bertha Taylor and Emma Doetker; brothers, Joseph, Rudy, William, Paul and Herman; four grandchildren; two daughers-in-law and two sons-in-law.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993, at Harman Mortuary Chapel, Beatrice, Pastor Richard Fruehling. Burial at Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln.
