Mrs. Mary Alice Slone, 86, a lifetime resident of Miller County,
died Thursday, June 17, 1976, at the Miller County Nursing Home. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tuscumbia Christian Church with
Dr. Ray Baker officiating. Burial was in Tuscumbia Cemetery under the
direction of Phillips Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 21, 1890, at St. Anthony to Jerry and Barbara
Jarrett Crane. Sept. 12, 1909, she was married at Hancock to Elmer Slone
who died Sept 13, 1960.
Mrs. Slone was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church. As a
young woman she had united with the Fairview Christian Church.
Surviving her are two sons, Lloyd Slone and Denzle Slone, both
of Tuscumbia; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Miller and Mrs. Genevieve
Sullivan, both of Tuscumbia, and Mrs. Vernice Salerno, Raytown; and eight
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a
son, four brothers and three sisters.
