Surviving Lee are his children, Shane (Carrie) Danner of Roseville, IL., Bobby (Stephanie) Zimmerman of Galesburg, Burton (Susan) Zimmerman of Philadelphia, PA., Jacinda Zimmerman of Galesburg; six grandchildren, Brittany & Destiny Zimmerman of Granite City, IL., Bryson Zimmerman, Shandi Durdle, Elijah DeWitt all of Galesburg, Kayla & Kelsey Zimmerman of PA., and Lacie Danner of Roseville; one great grandson; three sisters, Phyllis (Otho) Miller of Kirkwood, IL., Loretta (Billy) Carley of Pineville, NC., Mary (Richard) Kieme of Cuba, IL; two brothers, Burl Zimmerman of Yuma, AZ., Dean (Megan) Zimmerman of PA; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded by his parents; three sisters, Carol Ferra, Joan Gustafson, Marguerite Appleby; and one brother, Bernard Zimmerman.
Lee was an over the road truck driver for many years. He also was a self-employed mechanic. Lee enjoyed fishing and making his own fishing lures. He was a member of the Wiley Lutheran Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in the Wiley Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Lee Zimmerman Memorial Fund. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
