Leonard Jay Tweed, 52, of Viking Mountain Road, died Monday morning at his home. His family said he fought a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Tweed was a brick mason working along with his brother-in-law, Ed Church.
He is also survived by his wife: Darlene Gosnell Tweed; five children: Kristen Gosnell, Lauren Gosnell, Robert Tweed, Megan Tweed, and Caitlyn Tweed; a sister: Margaret Church of Greeneville; two brothers and one sister-in-law: James and Brenda Tweed and Junior Tweed, all of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews; a special aunt: Roxie Chandler; a special uncle: Jesse Gosnell; and a number of friends, inluding a special friend: Penny Wilson.
He was a son of the late Charles Tweed and the late Mable Cole and was preceded in death by two sisters: Gay Tweed and Peggy Tweed.
At Mr. Tweed's request, services will be private.
Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
