Born in Murray, Utah. Graduated from Murray High School. Completed the dressmaking course at Keister College. As a young woman, was widowed twice. First husband, Patrick Arthur Henery O'Brien died from an illness, second husband, Francis Marion Hales was accidentally killed. She was married to her third husband, Earl Joseph Gividen for about 20 years. She enjoyed doing short biographical writings of her family and her experiences. Margaret wrote poetry and composed a special children's song. She did some reporting of social events for the Midvale Newspaper. Later in life she served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Henderson, Nevada. Margaret is survived by her three children, Kareen M. O'Brien Springer, (Dale), Barbara J. Hales and Robert L. Gividen, (Marti), 23 grandchildren (including spouses), 33 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Jane Poole and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1st at 1 p.m. in the Glacial Park Ward, 2675 E. Mount Jordan Road, Granite/Sandy, Utah, with a viewing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Middlefork Ward, 6450 E. 1900 N. Eden, Utah.
