Betty June Swinford, born June 21, 1927, was welcomed as Heaven's newest angel on October 24, 2007. For more than 50 years, Betty dedicated her life to God, preaching the gospel around the country and touching lives wherever she went. Betty was also a gifted Christian writer, having written over 100 books and thousands of short stories that literally spanned the globe. Over her lifetime, Betty was involved with a number of Christian organizations, volunteering her time, resources, and experiences. Betty had an adventurous side - she loved the outdoors, spending time camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring with her family in the hills of Arizona. A devoted mother, loving friend, and woman of high integrity, she will be missed.

Betty has two surviving children, a son, Stephen Swinford who resides in Colorado, and a daughter, Renee Dietz in Missouri. She also has a daughter, Lynn Johnson who went to be with the Lord in June of 2004. Other surviving family includes five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family is grateful to friends and family for their incredible love and support during this difficult time, as well as Three Rivers Hospice and the North Kansas City Hospital for their care and kindness to Betty and the family.
