John B. Wells, age 78, former resident of the Cartersburg community, died, July 19, at a hospital in Tucson, Arizona, following a heart attack, that morning, at his home. A resident of Hendricks County, Indiana the greater part of his lifetime, he moved to Tucson, Arizona, following retirement from the Pennsylvania Railroad where he was employed as a section foreman. He was married to the former Dora B. Price, who survives, a patient in the Tucson General Hospital in Arizona.
Funeral services were conducted at the Arizona Mortuary, Tucson, with burial in Grantwood Cemetery, there.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Herman Smith, Danville; Mrs. Robert Ross, Plainfield; and Mrs. Robert E. Swinford, Phoenix, Arizona; four brothers and sisters, Julia Wells Wheeler, Plainfield; Mary Evans and Lee Wells, both of Fillmore; and Arthur Wells, Long Beach, California; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
