Josephine Hoyt, age 88, of Homer, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born February 19, 1932 in Sayersville, KY the daughter of Fred Miller and Minerva (Prater) Miller.

Josephine worked at Corning Glass in Albion and Midwest Foundry in Coldwater. She married Franklin Hoyt on May 7, 1956; he preceded her in death on January 8, 1992.

She loved spending time in her garden and farming. She often returned back home to Kentucky to see her homestead. She enjoyed getting together for family reunions and kept videos of those family gatherings.

Surviving are her children, Debra Betz and Benjamin (Carol) Hoyt; grandchildren, Jacalyn Hoyt, Logan Hoyt, Meagan (Dan) Cummings, Max (Amanda) Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Max Caldwell, Saydee Hanks, Jayden Farnham, Aaliyah Caldwell, Alyssa Cummings, Amyah Walker, and Alivia Kelsey; brothers, Wash Miller, Tom Miller, Willard Miller, Dallis Miller; sisters, Jan Williams, Glenna Elkins, and Barb Bodner.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carlen Sue Fincham; her sister, Kathleen; brothers, Willis and Charles Miller.

Due to Covid-19 and the public gathering restrictions of our state, the service will be private.

Arrangements were entrusted to Kempf Family Funeral and Cremation Services, 303 S Hillsdale St, Homer, MI 49245.
