Patricia S. (Jacobsen) McMaster, 74, of Milford, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City died Friday, Aug. 11, 2000, at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gull Point Lodge in Okoboji, Iowa, with the Rev. Scott G. Holmes of Grace Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa, officiating. The body was cremated. Visitation with the family will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City. Mrs. McMaster was born May 27, 1926, in Mitchell, S. D., the daughter of Merritt and Pauline (Burns) Seely. She grew up in Minneapolis. She moved to Sioux City in 1947, and had lived in Okoboji since 1974. She married Harold E. “Yac” Jacobsen June 21, 1947, in Sioux City. He died Oct. 30, 1979, in Rochester. She married Samuel A. “Sam” McMaster Jr. Aug. 20, 1982, at Clear Lake, Iowa. He died Dec. 10, 1996, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was a member of Questers, American Girls, Junior League, PEO Chapter GR in Sioux City, and PEO Chapter KF In Spencer, Iowa. She was active in Siouxland Rehabilitation Center and served as president from 1959 to 1960. She served on the board of the Woodbury County Society for Crippled Children and Adults. In 1961, she was the Iowa delegate to the World Congress of Crippled Children and Adults. She was active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She was on the executive board of PTA and the board of United Way. She was the agency liaison to Catholic Charities and the Florence Crittenton Home. She troupes her own puppet show through the pediatric department of local hospitals and was active in children’ theater with Junior League. She and her husband, Yac, were among the original founders of River-Cade. She also was active in the effort to obtain the All American City Award for Sioux City. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Arnolds Park, Iowa, a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church and First United Methodist Church In Sioux City. Survivors include (redacted). She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Charles Seely. A memorial will be established in her name.
