Carl Lee Collins, 88, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 17, 2020. He is the 6th of 7 children born to Ira and Violet Collins in Clinton, Missouri on July 20, 1931.
He married Peggy Cordell on February 8, 1951 and together they had 4 daughters, Sue, Shirley, Janice, and Carla. His family members describe him as the rock of the entire family and how he consistently made a path around town to make sure they were safe.
Carl was a true craftsman with his hands and gave with his heart. He was willing to help anyone who needed it, family or not. He enjoyed coffee and conversations with friends at local places. He spent free time outdoors gardening, sitting on the porch, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He faithfully watched the Royal, Cheifs, and Nascar.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ira and Violet Collins, his daughter Sandra 'Sue' Collins Mangum, brother Harvey Collins, sisters Eva Mae Barnhart, Montez Dady, Doris Green, and great-grandson Dillon Walrath.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Collins, 3 daughters Shirley (Bruce) Wilkins, Janice Eversole and Carla Bramell all of Clinton, seven grandchildren Stephanie Nichols, Sara Heistand, Kim Dalton, Lindy Bramell, Justin and Johnathan Eversole and Katie Bramell, 2 step-grandchildren, Kenneth and Michelle Wilkins, 2 sister, Eula Moreland and Annabell Matson, 11 great-grandchildren and many neices and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Vansant-Mills Funeral home, Clinton, Missouri.
