Rita A. Strecker, age 73, resident of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Willows at Willard. She was born on July 21, 1946, in New Washington, Ohio, to the late Anthony and Rosalia (Frisch) Stockmaster. Rita graduated from Attica High School and had worked at Crest Bending in New Washington. Rita was a member St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, where she was part of the Rosary Altar Society, and was past member of the Eagles in Bellevue. Rita, who had a special love for children, loved to babysit.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four brothers, Eugene (Ruth) Stockmaster of Attica, Robert (Darlene Stuart) Stockmaster, of Willard, Charles (Sandi) Stockmaster of New Washington, and Walter (Terrie) Stockmaster of New Washington; two sisters, Gertrude McPherson Carter of New Washington, and Marilyn (Paul) Stahl of New Washington; a special niece who looked after her, Julie Stahl; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Strecker.

Due to COVID-19, visitation will be at the Bellevue Cemetery, 800 Monroe Street, Bellevue, Ohio 44811, on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., where a graveside service will take place at 11:00 am, with Father George Mahas officiating. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernard Catholic Church or St. Bernard School Endowment Fund.
