Clellie N. Maddox

Clellie Norman Maddox, 73, of Sandyville went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007. His wife was by his side.

He was born Feb. 2, 1934, at Sandyville, a son of Lucille Angus Maddox of Sandyville and the late Holly Maddox. He was an Army veteran for two years and worked at the Ames Shovel Plant for 421/2 years, where he was a member of the USWA Local 2997. He was known from states far and wide for his fine cars. He was a Mopar enthusiast and always had an interest in shining, driving and enjoying his Mopars. He had attended the Mopar Nationals for 20 years. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 48 years, Norma Skeens Maddox; a daughter, Rose Poe and husband, Pat, of Sandyville; sons, Glen Maddox and wife, Barb, of Sandyville and Gerald Maddox of Ohio; grandchildren, Rodney Poe, Matthew Maddox, Alisha Maddox and Emily Maddox; and a special friend, Charles Bunner of Evans, whom he entered into the military with in 1956-1958.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Elliott.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Bud McVey officiating. Burial will be in the Drift Run Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
