Mrs. Dale was a life-long resident of this town and was born here January 3, 1837, a daughter of John and Hulda Byington, who were among the pioneers of this place. She became the wife of the late Luke Dale 51 years ago and their wedded life was spent on the farm homestead on Wolcott Hill. He died four years ago since which time Mrs. Dale has lived with her daughter at whose home she died. Deceased was greatly beloved for her kind and loving nature and in the memory of those who knew her will ever be cherished the friendship that ceased in her death. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Surviving to mourn her death are four children: Charles J. Dale of East Florence, Mrs. Charles Dale and John Dale of Camden and Mrs. Charles Root of West Vienna; also, a sister, Mrs. Harriett Jones of Rome.
The funeral was attended yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock from her late home on North street, the Rev. H. W. Markham officiating. The remains were conveyed to Forest Park Cemetery and buried in the family lot.
