Edward Mahoney was born on a ranch in Alva, Wyoming on February 8, 1927. His parents were Gertrude Seeley and John Thomas Mahoney. He had two sisters and five brothers.
He graduated from high school in Hulett, Wyoming and afterwards was drafted into the army. He served two years, mostly stationed in Panama, during World War II. After returning from the Army, he married Evelyn Nilson. They moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to further his education at Spartan College. He worked as an Engineer at Seismograph Service Coporation for 33 years. He was all out sportsman. Golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting were some of his favorites. He also enjoyed growing and harvesting strawberries and vegetables in his garden
Ed met his wife, Evelyn, when they were very young living Hulett, Wyoming. They were married on August 13rd, 1947 in Deadwood, South Dakota and had four children , Linda, Roy, Bruce and Sandra. There are 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Ed and Evelyn were married 72 plus years before he died on March 19th, 2020. He was the last survivor of his seven brothers and sisters, Ben, Ellen, Joe, John, Alice, Fred and Lloyd.
Ed loved to cook sourdough waffles and pancakes for breakfast. He liked to challenge people by betting them a quarter and for years sent jokes out regularly via email to brighten his friend's day.
All of Ed's family appreciated his sense of humor and quick wit. He enjoyed traveling to Italy, Ireland, Sweden, England and many places in the United States. He always enjoyed returning to his home town and visiting family and friends.
Ed passed away on March 19th, 2020 at 11:00 a. m. He was 93 years old. No one has ever had a better father or grandfather. He will be dearly missed.

A memorial celebrating the life of Ed will be held at the RiverCrest Chapel and Event Center at a later date.
