Victor “Gene” Washam, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at his home in rural Salisbury, MO.
Victor was born on October 20, 1930, in Bynumville, MO, the son of Milton and Octavia (Young) Washam. Victor served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He married Geraldine Still in January 1951, and later married Edna Weaver on July 3, 1983, in Kansas City, MO. Victor enjoyed working on his farm.
He is survived by three sons, Donald Washam of Kearney, MO, Jerry Washam (Pete) of Kearney, MO, Danny Washam (Paula) of Salisbury, MO; three step daughters, Elaine Phalp (Randall) of Lenexa, KS, Theresa Hoffman of Salisbury, MO, Tina Hester (Dave) of Kansas City, MO; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Victor was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Geraldine and Edna, one son Rodney Washam, one brother, Orglee Washam, and two sisters, Genevieve and Elva Washam.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 1, 2019, at 1pm at the Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury, MO. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Fitzgerald Cemetery near Bynumville, MO. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial are suggested to the Fitzgerald Cemetery Association.
