"David Henry Rickabaugh was b. 3-23-1820 in Ohio & was mar. 10-16-1841 to Nancy Davis, who was b. 1-27-1822 in Ohio.
Upon their leaving Ohio, they came west to Iowa & then to what is now Worth Co., Mo., in 1857. They entered the land on which Sheridan is built and also 160 acres adjoining it on the north, making 240 acres.
He was a highly respected man. It can truly be said that he left a record worthy of imitation. He was identified with the improved progress of the community. He successfully passed through the hardships consequent upon an early settler in what was then frontier country & through hard work lived well.
David Henry Rickabaugh died at his home 2 mi. sw of Sheridan on 3-10-1900. He wife Nancy died 3-22-1907. Both bur. In Sheridan Cem.
He & Nancy had 11 children: Sophie, who married oseph Srader; Ruben, Mary Jane, who mar. Wm. Jones Nutt; William Henry, Stephen A., Isaac, Lucinda who mar. Moses V. Nutt, Rachel C., who died young, Sarah A. who mar. Wm. Anderson, David Porter & Allen who died young.
William Henry Rickabaugh b. 4-13-1848 in Springfield, Ohio & died Sheridan 7-17-1934. He married Adi Stingley, 5-24-1868. She was b. 11-23-1854 near Guilford, Mo., & d. in Sheridan 5-25-1923. She was the dau. Of William & Elizabeth (Munson) Stingley. Wm. Henry & Adi had 5 children: Nancy Jane, who mar. John W. Bainum & had 3/c. (see their sketch), Mary Elizabeth who mar. John A. Reddick & they had 2/c. Cecil Frank (1-20-1896-12-23-1964) & Marie A. (10-21-1899-1-4-1981). Anna, who mar. Burton L. Simons & had 3/c. Willie L. (4-18-1896-6-2-1975), Paul B. (6-2-1975) & Floy Adi b. 3-3-1912. Jennie Vee, who mar. Albert Straiht & had 5/c. Doy (5-22-1905-9-26-1907), Dorothy L. b. 11-30-1906, Virgil Troy (8-18-1908-10-4-1929), Cora Adi b. 10-14-1915 & Lucy Irene b. 11-7-1916. Porter Rickabaugh who mar.
