PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Georgia A. Crowther, 89, of Platteville, died Friday, May 30, 1997, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Bendorf Funeral Home, Platteville, with the Rev. Thomas M. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crowther was born on July 4, 1907, near Ellenboro, daughter of John Henry and Ada (Baker) Brogley. She married Joseph Allen "Cookie" Crowther on Oct. 19, 1940, in Dubuque; he died on Sept. 21, 1980.

Georgia enjoyed visiting local nursing homes to visit with the residents.

Surviving are a sister, Ruth Cordes, of Davison, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Doris Brogley, of Moline, Ill.; nine nieces and nephews, Jack Brogley and Beverly Klonglond, both of Madison, Annabelle Brunton, of Platteville, Madge Noyes, of Jackson, Miss., Fay Ohlert, of Maquoketa, Iowa, Josephine Flesch, of Evansville, Judy Brumbaugh and Carol Peterson, both of Moline, and Jon Cordes, of Seal Beach, Calif.; many great-nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Lyle James Mann, from her first marriage; her parents; two sisters, Marie Carolyn Brogley, in infancy, and Ada Odessa Ohlert; and two brothers, Maynard and Lyle Brogley.
