Francis W. Murhamer age 86 of Ansonia entered into rest Saturday June 30, 2007 in the V.A. Hospital in West Haven. He was the devoted husband of Dorothy Wimer Murhamer. Mr. Murhamer was born in Indianola, PA May 24,1921 son of the late John and Ellen Tyson Murhamer and has been a resident of Shelton and Ansonia for most of his life.
He was a retired truck driver for the Beard Construction Co. in Shelton for over 30 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 1260 Base Unit of the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the American Legion Sutter Terlizzi Post # 16 The Czeho Club in Shelton, and the Echo Hose Fire Dept. all of Shelton. He is the brother of Robert Murhamer, Ethel Shaw, Elizabeth Webb, and the late Rachel Banks. Mr. Murhamer also leaves 5 loving grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may greet the family on Monday (TODAY) from 4 to 6 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Tuesday friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Riverside Cemetery Shelton.
