Byron Calbert Bointy, 68, Oklahoma City, OK passed from this life March 9, 2020 following a long illness.
Byron was born March 5, 1952 in Lawton, Ok to Vincent Horace and Rosalia Grace Kauyedauty Bointy. Byron grew up in Oklahoma City, OK and graduated from Western Heights High School. He attended college at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Byron’s early career was in the petroleum industry. He worked for several drilling companies in and around the Stillwater area. He later took a position with Helmerich-Payne working offshore drilling in Venezuela. After returning from Venezuela and until his retirement he worked in the construction industry, framing and trimming newly constructed homes.
Prior to his illness Bryon loved being outdoors. He enjoyed cookouts, festivals, live music, baseball, and basketball. He was an avid fan of OSU sports and OKC Thunder.
Byron was a fun Papa. His grandchildren loved going with him on a trip to the zoo, train show, birthday outing, fireworks show or just riding with papa on his riding mower. Byron loved the holidays complete with big dinners and lots of family time.
Byron was a member of the Kiowa tribe of Oklahoma and Kiowa Tia-Piah Society.
Byron is survived by his wife, Karen of the home.

Grandsons: Caben, Graycen, Patrick, Preston and Rylan

Byron is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent Horace and Rosalia Grace Kauyedauty Bointy: Brothers: Ronald Lynn Bointy; Charles Harry Bointy. Sisters: Sandra Bointy-Tsotigh; Verna Vincinne Bointy and Emmabelle Parton.
