After retirement, Junior worked as a park ranger at Nambe Falls for 17 seasons, a job he looked forward to working every season. He was an avid sports fan, and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the New York Yankees, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Family meant more to him than anything, and he always enjoyed spending time with them. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, and his eyes would always light up, especially when he saw his Kailee.
Serving as pallbearers were Marcus and Matthew Lopez, Macario Gutierrez, Matthew Garcia, Manuel Herrera, Jr. and Wilfred Fresquez.
