Julia Lafont Picou, 91, a native and resident of Golden Meadow passed away on January 24, 2019.
A visitation will take place at Christian Family Center in Galliano on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 9:00 am until service time. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am with funeral procession following to her burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Mrs. Julia is survived by her children; Michael Picou, Kenneth Picou, Phillip Picou, and Sheila Picou Collins, five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Picou was preceded in death by her husband; Clebert “Mickey” Picou, grandchild; Keshia Collins, parents; John Sr. and Amelia Lafont, sisters; Felonise Eymard, Elise Arabie, Adela Pierce, brothers; Hubert, Ramis, John Jr., Adam, Julian, Edward, Raymond, and Gustave Lafont.
Julia enjoyed taking care of her family, driving for the Council on Aging until she retired, and continuously caring for her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of South Lafourche Nursing Home and St. Joseph Hospice for their care and compassion.
