GENEVIEVE PITRE

Genevieve “Jan” Lafont Pitre, 76, a native of Lafourche Parish and resident of Cut Off passed away June 12, 2017. A visitation will take place at Golden Meadow Methodist Church on June 15, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time. Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial following at Cheramie Cemetery.

Mrs. Jan is survived by her husband of 52 years, Aubrey “CoCo” Pitre; daughter, Cindy Pitre; sons, Rafe Pitre (Jill) and Ricky Cheramie (Debbie); grandchildren, Taryn Boudreaux (Roddy), Dwan Savoie, and Brie Castagnetta (Jonathan); great grandchildren, Kash, Adalyn, Sage, and Elijah; and sister, Julia Picou.

Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her parents, John Lafont Sr. and Amelia Lafont; sisters, Felonise Eymard, Elise Arabie, and Adele Pierce; and brothers, Hubert, Ramis, John Jr., Adam, Julian, Edward, Raymond, and Gustave Lafont.

She loved Mardi Gras which was her favorite holiday, spending time with family and friends, going to casinos and lived life to the fullest.
