Although, at present, there is no marker placed in the Locklin Cemetery for Abigale McLennan Fokes, it has always been said by family that Abigale (my 3rd Great Grandmother) was buried within the perimeter of the wrought iron fencing shown in the picture (upper right). It has been said that Abigale's mother, Catherine, was buried here at the Locklin cemetery, within the wrought iron fencing, though she was killed at Pond Creek in the spring of 1836. It is quite doubtful that Catherine McKinnon McLennan was buried here since the 1st known burial was that of Peter Mercer in 1844. The other graves believed to within the wrought iron fencing would likely be 3 of her children: John Fokes Jr, Daniel Fokes, Catherine Fokes Anderson and a granddaughter: CPW Anderson.
