DIES WHILE VISITING
George W. White, of Bangor, Stricken
While at Home of His Daughter.
While visiting at the Elias Bailey home on South Twelfth avenue, near the southern limits of the city, with his daughter Mrs. Fannie Dann, George W. White, of Bangor, died of apoplexy, Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Mr. White arrived in the city Saturday evening to remain for a short time with Mrs. Dann, who is Mr. Bailey's housekeeper. He was in his usual health, and there was no warning that the end was so near.
Mr. White was 77 years of age, and had been a resident of Marshall county since 1865, living both at Bangor and LeGrand. Mr. White was born in North Carolina in 1830. He married in Indiana, Miss Mary Owen, who died two years ago. In 1865 he moved to Iowa and settled at Bangor. Eighteen years ago he moved to LeGrand and remained there for ten years, when he returned to Bangor. Since the death of Mrs. White he has made his home with his children, five of whom survive him. They are J. C. White, of Zearing, A. B. White, of New Providence, and Owen White, of Conrad, Mrs. S. J. Hollingsworth, of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Dann, of this city.
The funeral will be held from the Friends church at Bangor Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. Hickman officiating. The burial will be in the Bangor cemetery.
