Surname seen spelled as Rothtrock on many censuses. It is not known where Owen is buried.

Owen Rothrock was the third of five known children of John Rothrock (1800-1870) and Hannah Demuth (1807-1885), who married 21 Nov 1828 at Bellefonte, Centre County, Pennsylvania. It is not known where John is buried, he died at Carroll County, Virginia.

Owen first married to Louisa Bartels (Bottles?) (c1839-p1880) on 03 Feb 1856 at East Conventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Owen and Louisa were the parents of four known children, namely:

1. Mary Betty Rothrock Snow (1856-1928)
2. Nathaniel Misner Rothrock (1860-1937)
3. James D. Rothrock (1866-1933)
4. John Cassell Rothrock (1874-1936)

It is reported that after Louisa died, Owen remarried to (the widow?) Margaret Hampton (???-???) at Ava, Douglas County, Missouri. Nothing is known of Margaret. In 1860 the family (parents and daughter Mary) were living at North Coventry Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania with Owen was listed as a farmer and shoemaker. Owen was said to be a Dunkard and River Brethren Minister. They were living on the same farm as Owen and Mary Reinhart (both age 69). In 1870 the family (parents and first three children) was living at Fancy Gap Township, Carroll County, Virginia. In 1880 the parents and all four children were living at Fancy Gap District, Carroll County, Virginia. Caroline Bartels (age 73), the mother of Louisa, was living with them. In 1900 Owen, a widower, was living with his brother Samuel Rothrock at Clay Township, Douglas County, Missouri. Owen died of dropsy.
