He was born Sept. 29, 1912, at Snyder Township, the son of Jesse and Adeline G. (Price) Beamer. On Nov. 15, 1940, at Osceola Mills, he was married to Evelyn Mae Smith.
He is survived by his wife, three brothers and one sister, Charles L. Beamer, Akron, Ohio; Harold T. Beamer and Kenneth W. Beamer, both of Mechanicsburg; and Mrs. Kathryn Liner, Port Matilda; and several nieces and nephews. One sister preceded him in death.
He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of Port Matilda American Legion Post 536, Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company and AARP. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1977 as a mechanic in the maintenance department of the Penn State University after nine years of service. He had previously been employed at Beasley Ford Company, Altoona, as a mechanic/service manager for 11 years.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 P.m. at the Derman Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. D. Z. Lewis Jr. officiating. Interment with military honors will be made at Bald Eagle Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the time of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Bald Eagle Christian and Missionary Alliance Church building fund.
