"Ted" or "Teddy" one day just left the family home in Allendale, Missouri. It was ca 1925, when he was about 20 years of age. He was seen again soon after when he visited his brother Robert Allen Uhlig in Kansas City, Missouri. According to writings of his sister, Kathryn, Ted was telling his brother that he was going to go to the oil fields in Oklahoma. Allen tried to talk him out of leaving, but he left anyway. He was never heard from again. Later, His father even hired a private detective to locate him but with no luck. This was very sad for his parents and family, especially his mother.
