Elizabeth was the firstborn child of Abraham J. Randles Jr. & Eliza (Binning) Randles. She married Casper Hosfelt on May 31st, 1866 in Coshocton,Ohio. They had the following known children; Anna E. born abt.1867,Charles, born 1869, Elizabeth, George C., John, Adilla (went to Colorado) , Mary born Dec. 1878 in Missouri and Joseph born Sept. 1884 in Missouri. Casper & Elizabeth received the deed to 160 acres of land in LaClede County, Missouri around the year 1890 under the Homestead Act of 1862. They must have really worked hard to clear so much land. Taken to Oklahoma Cherokee Indian Reservation Lands, they are listed in the Cherokee Nation 1900 Census as "Hasfelt." Sons; Charles, George C., born abt.1873 and John born March 1875 (all 3 in Ohio) are correctly listed in Township 21 North, 1900 Indian Territory Federal Census as Hosfelt. John & his wife Lee have a daughter Daisy, who was born in the Cherokee Nation in Sept. 1897. Son Joseph Hosfelt is also listed with his parents, in the Cherokee Nation in Twp 21 North, as 'Hasfelt'.
Elizabeth may have lived about 19 years in Mayes County, Oklahoma.
Rev. Casper Hosfelt left the reservation right after Elizabeth's death(he died in Colorado) and his body was returned for burial beside her.John Hosfelt and his wife Amanda Hosfelt are buried in Fairview also.Please e-mail for the reference numbers for the Cherokee Nation records.
