The Pryor Creek Clipper, Pryor Oklahoma – 25 May 1906, Friday
John Hosfelt, son of Rev. C. Hosfelt, died at Springfield, Mo., Sunday, May 20, 1906, aged 31 years. His brother, Will Hosfelt, came down Monday morning to make arrangements for the burial, the body arriving on No. 1 Tuesday morning being accompanied by the sorrowing wife and children, Rev. Hosfelt, the father, and his son, Charles Hosfelt. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Tuesday morning, being conducted by Rev. J. G. Brendel, pastor. He leaves a wife and two children, a father and mother, several brothers and sisters, and a host of friends here and at Springfield to mourn his loss.John was employed at the Frisco shops in Springfield when he was taken ill eight weeks ago with typhoid fever which later developed complications baffling the skill of the best physicians. His father had only recently gone to Longmont, Colo. But returned to Springfield 19 days before the death of his son and did what he could for his suffering boy. His widow and children will make their home with her father, J. H. Parsons, east of town.
