Martha Lynn Ware 70, of Covington, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 14, 2019. She was born in Hampton, VA to Jerl Forrest and Anna Belle (McClung) Thorn. in addition to her parents she is preceded in death by brothers William Thorn, Jerry Thorn , and sister Clara Belle Pyatt. Martha is survived by her twin sister Mary Ware, daughter Sarah Breeden, grandchildren Angellica , Alexander, Emmi Breeden,and Jocelyn Lancaster, great grandchildren Matthew Blind, Remi Breeden, and Zora Lancaster, .
Martha served our country for 2 years in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1972. She served four years as head of the women's ministry at Peninsula Rescue Mission in Newport News VA. Martha joined Gaither's United Methodist Church on March 31, 1996 where she was a Sunday school teacher, helped with Mexico shoe box ministry, was a member of the Gaither's Women's Society and Senior Saints, served the Walk to Emmaus ministry, and served in various church functions and ministries throughout her years there. She was also recognized for perfect church attendance numerous times through the years. Martha was a loving mother and loved Jesus with her whole heart. She was always generous to those in need and was known for her kindness and sweet spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services for Martha will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:30pm at Gaithers United Methodist Church 1375 Newton Factory Bridge Rd, Covington, GA 30014. The family will receive friends from 2:00pm-2:30pm.
