Charles Delbert Heiner, 82, died June 30, 1999 at St. John's Hospital in Jackson, WY.
He was born Sept 25, 1918, in Bedford to Robert C. and Sylvia Heiner.
He graduated from Star Valley High School and Seminary in 1935 and served an LDS mission in the Eastern States. He held many positions in the LDS Church.
He married Velda Hunsaker on July 6, 1939, in the Logan Temple. She died May 24, 1995.
Delbert and Velda made their home in Bedford were they built up a farm on which they milked dairy cows. Delbert served on the board of directors of the Star Valley Swiss Cheese Co. and as president for 18 years, and also served on the District Farm Bureau Crop and Natural Resource Committee for a number of years.
Delbert loved carpentry and built many buildings around the area. In 1976 he built a new home in Bedford to which he retired. He was an avid fisherman and camper. He loved to be outdoors.
Delbert was a well-loved and respected father to 10 children; Terry Heiner (JoAnn) of Silver City NM, Linda Lawrence of Hulbert, OK, Ranae Vander Linden (Scott) of Sandy, UT, Denalee McKenna (Larry) Rexburg, ID, Kelly (Debra) Heiner, Bedford, Pasty Garner Teton ID, Sheila Jenkins (Paul) of Thayne WY, Scott Heiner (Paula) of Green River, WY Jill Thompson (Chuck) of Bountiful, UT and Lisa Drollette (David) of Thayne WY. Surviving brother Morris Heiner, 32 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 6, 1999 at 12 noon at the Bedford, WY, LDS Church.
Interment was in the Bedford Cemetery.
On Delbert's 80th birthday he stated "Eighty years have past, I set here and wonder what there is lift of me when I am gone. There is my children and grandchildren, that's it. What they do and become
