Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grand-father, uncle and friend passed away peacefully June 26, 2007 of lung disease at the age of 83. Born March 29, 1924 to Frank H. and D. Alice Berrett in Union, Utah. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1942. Married Verla M. Ostler (deceased May 1994) in the Salt Lake Temple on August 21, 1942 and had four children. Married MarDella Crump April 26, 1995. Dad joined the Navy in 1942 and fought in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was talented in many jobs but for most of his life worked in the building industry. He owned and operated Sierra Corporation, which manufactured pre-hung doors and hardware. Dad loved life and cherished his immediate and extended family. He never stopped bragging about their many accomplishments. He loved working with his hands and was always building, fixing, or creating anything he put his mind to. He was always in demand for these skills and talents by all his family, friends, and neighbors. Dad's great sense of humor was well known. He found humor in any situation. He had a story or joke for everything. He could fit into any group, old or young, because he was so fun to be around. Dad was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called to many positions and always served faithfully.

Dad is survived by his wife, MarDella; daughters, Claudia Adams (Jack), Launi Smith (Darrell), Kim Downard (Ron); son, Devan Berrett; stepdaughters, Karen Bryson, Colleen Clarke (Jeff), Denise Webb (Kevin); and stepson, Douglas Crump; sisters, Elaine Kramer, Janice Mosher, and Gloria Hegsted; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Verla; parents; and six brothers and sisters.

Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the River Ridge 8th Ward, 1300 W. 10200 So., South Jordan (north of the Jordan River Temple). Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Friday 6-8 p.m., and at the chapel Sat. 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
