Myril M. Ball, 89, of Falconer, passed away Monday (Oct. 28, 2019) in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, Gerry.
A lifelong area resident, he was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Jamestown, the youngest son of Clifford and Jessie Wolcott Ball.
Myril was a graduate of Falconer High School and a full time dairy farmer, until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement from farming, he along with his wife, Joyce were employed by the former Levant Christian School and the YMCA.
He was a member of the Gerry Free Methodist Church, Levant Cemetery Society and Farm Bureau. Myril had been a 4-H leader and served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. He along with his wife, Joyce coordinated the Operation Christmas Child Project at Gerry Free Methodist Church and made annual trips to Charlotte, N,C,m to work at the National Distribution Center.
Surviving are two daughters: Linda (Doug) Ostrom of Charlotte, N,C,, and Brenda (Joel) Wolcott of Falconer; five grandchildren: Daniel (Meredith) Ostrom of Gastonia, N.C., Steve (Emily) Wolcott of Perrysburg, Ohio, Andrew Ostrom (Rojan Kilmer) of Kennedy, N.Y., Kevin (Summer) Wolcott of Ashville, N.Y. and Susan (Kevin) Phifer of Oakboro, N.C.; great-grandchildren: Jaxon Alan, Lincoln James and Phoebe Rose Wolcott, all of Ashville, N.Y., Ella Mae and Brooks Reid Phifer of Oaksboro, N.C., Evan Joseph and Baby Girl Wolcott (due January 2020) of Perrysburg, Ohio, Tesika and Mason Kilmer of Kennedy, Parker and Riley Horne of Gastonia, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Joyce M. Robbins Ball of 65 years, whom he married Jan. 20, 1951, who died September 3, 2016; his brothers: Harland and Burnell Ball; and a great- nephew David Ball.
