A lifelong area resident, she was born May 4, 1931, in Levant, the daughter of the late Albert and Lillian Burnside Robbins.
Joyce was a graduate of Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by National Worsted Mills and Robbins Veneer. Prior to retirement, she was employed by YMCA.
She was a member of the Gerry Free Methodist Church and the Levant Cemetery Society. Joyce had served as a 4-H Leader for the Levant Cloverettes and Sunday school teacher for several years. She along with her husband, Myril worked together at Operation Christmas Child which is based in Charlotte, N.C.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Myril M. Ball, whom she married Jan. 20, 1951, in Falconer; two daughters: Linda (Doug) Ostrom of Charlotte, N.C., and Brenda (Joel) Wolcott of Falconer; five grandchildren: Daniel (Lisa Tanner) Ostrom of Concord, N.C., Steve (Emily) Wolcott of Davidson, N.C., Andrew (Rojan Kilmer) Ostrom of Kennedy, N.Y., Kevin (Summer) Wolcott of Ashville, N.Y., and Susan (Kevin) Phifer of Stanfield, N.C.; great grandchildren: Jaxon, Lincoln and Phoebe Rose Wolcott of Ashville, N.Y., Ella Mae Phifer of Stanfield, N.C., and Evan Joseph Wolcott of Davidson, N.C., due in January 2017; her sister, Shirley (Don) Short of Falconer; her brother Dick (Barb) Robbins of Charlotte, N.C.; her extended family: Tesika and Mason Kilmer of Kennedy, Malin and Lukas Blackwell of Concord, N.C., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Robbins.
