Richard Stephens
Richard Stephens, 84, of Sandy Hook, KY, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014, at his home. he was born March 24, 1930, in Elliott County, a son of the late John Frank and Eva Barker Stephens. he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Katherine White Stephens; a son, Ova Stephens, and brothers and sisters, Ora, Ova and Earnest Stephens; Susie Ison, Blanch Stephens and Jewell Thompson. Richard belonged to the Wallow Hole Baptist Church. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather and a dear friend to all who that knew him. He is survived by three sons; Arvil Stephens, Dee Stephens and Richard "Witty" Stephens, all of Sandy Hook, KY; five daughters: Evan Jane Barker of Willard, KY; Martha Ferguson and Mary Ferguson; both of Sandy Hook, KY; Geraldine Riley of Blaine, KY and Donna Barker of Grayson, KY; 19 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Two sisters: Roxie Smith of Sandy Hook and Louise Brickey of Hitchens, KY; a brother, Estill Stamper of Lawrence County, KY and a host of friends and loved ones who will sadly miss him.
