Blanch Stephens
Blanch Stephens, 91, of Sandy Hook, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at Elliott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Sandy Hook. She was born May 15, 1923, Mrs. Stephens was a homemaker. in addition to her parents, John and Eva Stephens, she was preceded in death by three rothers, Ova Stephens, Ernest Stephens and Ora Stephens; and two sisters, Suzie Ison and Jewel Thompson. Survivors include one brother, Richard Stephens, of Sandy Hook; two sisters, Roxie Smith, of Sandy Hook and Louise Brickey, of Grayson; along with a host of friends that cared for Blanch at the Elliott County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Sandy Hook; and Doctor Kari Shields that took such great care of her. Funeral services were conducted at 11am Friday, September 26, at Wallowhole Church, in Sandy Hook, with Brother Hershel Gillium, Brother Gary Sparks and Brother Billy T. Rice officiating. Burial followed in the Lyons Cemetery at Wallowhole, under the direction of Waddell and Whitt Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers were Arvil Stephens, Dee Stephens, Richard "Witty" Stephens, Johnnie Smith, Isaac Smith, Edward Stephens and Lonnie Barker. Send online condolences to www.waddellandwhitt.com
