Died 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 1990, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital, New Roads. She was 90, a native of Ventress and a resident of New Roads. Visiting at Niland Funeral Home, New Roads, 8 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at St. Mary Catholic Church, New Roads, at 10 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment in False River Memorial Park. Survived by two daughters, Gracie Broussard and Geraldine Levy, both of Baton Rouge; two sons, Joseph E. Monceret, New Roads, and Herman Monceret, Baton Rouge; six sisters, Isabel Major, New Roads, Ida McCarty, Laura Dabadie, Thelma LeBlanc, Bernice Falconer and Genevieve Wascom, all of Baton Rouge; a brother, J.C. Chenevert, New Roads; 29 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Leon Monceret Sr.; a daughter, Garnet Allsbrook; and a son, Leon Monceret Jr. Pallbearers will be a nephew, Jaques Major; and five grandchildren, Mike Ramirez, Tim Stanley, Brent Stanley, Paul Monceret and Leon Monceret II. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.
