She was born on April 26, 1943 in Elkhart to Franklin and Florence (Plank) Mishler. On April 25, 1975 in Elkhart she married Dwight "Jack" Kortie, he died March 22, 2015.
Surviving are her four children, Stephanie Miller of Ann Arbor, MI, Steve (Sherri) Miller of Middlebury, Lisa (Bob Galloway) Miller of Goshen, Tom Kortie of Indianapolis; 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Marlene Mockler and Nancy Benton.
Judy was a homemaker and had worked for the Secretary of State in Michigan. She then was the owner/operator of Ridgeway Floral, Three Rivers, MI and later had worked as a teller at First State Bank, Middlebury.
She was a pet lover and was the owner/operator, with her husband, of Healthy Pets, Middlebury.
In high school she was a cheerleader and was crowned Miss Middlebury. She was a member of Indiana Alpha Delta Theta Chi. She loved decorating and was very creative. She loved the holiday seasons, especially Christmas and was an avid golfer.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, and one hour prior to the 1:30 pm funeral service on Sunday November 24, all at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury.
Family and friends will gather at 10:00 am on Monday, November 25, for a graveside service at Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
