Frances W Cook (Cochran), daughter of Uriah and Mary Cook, was born in Platte County, Missouri, December 14th, 1853.When but a small girl she came to Pottawatomie County, Kansas, settling near Westmoreland. She was United in marriage to Francis M Cochran, July 6th 1876. After a short time they moved to the Bucks Grove community where they lived until 1889, when they came to Havensville, where they have since resided.The family consisted of twelve children. Four small children, a daughter Mary and a son Alfred have preceded her in death. The father died March 5th, 1925. Those living are Mrs. Martha Denton, Mrs. Amanda Stephens, Edgar Cochran, and Robert Cochran of Topeka, Kansas; John Cochran of Kansas City, and Mrs. Edith Bartlett who with her husband have so tenderly cared for the mother. There are also ten grandchildren. Mrs Cochran had been in failing health for several months and passed away Sunday morning, August 5, 1928, at the age of 74 years, 7 months, 21 days. The funeral was held at the Havensville M.E. church at 2:30 pm.,Aug 6, conducted by the Rev. Wm M. Mayfield of Soldier. Interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery at Havensville.
