Hays -- LeRoy A. Graf, 67, died March 28, 1998, at Hays Medical Center, St. Anthony Campus. He was born Feb. 2, 1931, at Victoria, the son of Fidelis J. and Clara Hauser Graf.

A Hays resident since 1994, moving from Fort Madison, Iowa, where he had lived for 20 years, he was a meat loader for Armour Packing House for 37 years at Omaha, Neb., St. Paul, Minn., and Fort Madison. He belonged to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9076, both at Hays. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

On June 12, 1954, he married Irene A. Kippes at Hays. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, LeRoy A. Jr., Tucson, Richard A., Hays, and Robert F., Glenwood, Iowa; two daughters, Yvonne I. Graf, Farmington, Minn., and Virginia C. Smeader, San Bernardino, Calif.; three brothers, Gilbert, Denver, Al, Damar, and Arthur, Lansing; four sisters, Bertha Goens, Conway, Ark., Henrietta Staab, Hays, Eleanor Bell, Denver, and Armella Gerber, Arvada, Colo.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Joe and infant brother Ernest; and a sister, Wilhelmena Walters.

Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Cline's Mortuary of Hays. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Donald D. Zimmerman presiding. Friends may call from 6 to 8:30 p.m. today, 3 to 9 p.m. Monday and 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, all at the mortuary. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ellis, with military graveside honors by Hays VFW Post No. 9076.
