Henrietta Staab, 86, St. John's of Hays, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2004, at the nursing home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Victoria to Fidelis and Clara (Hauser) Graf.
She married John S. Staab in Catherine on Oct. 15, 1935. He died March 18, 2001.
She was a housekeeper at the Vagabond Hotel for many years and a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Catherine Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers, both of Catherine.
Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Fager and husband, Wayne, Clara Dinkel, and Shirley Scoby and husband Brian, all of Hays; three brothers, Gilbert Graf, Denver, Artie Graf, Leavenworth, and Al Graf, Damar; three sisters, Bertha Goens, Conway, Ark., Eleanor Bell, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Armella Gerber, Arvada, Colo; nine grandchildren, Travis, Courtney and Luke Scoby, Merle, Chris and David Fager, and Curt Dinkel, Carla Cox and Cary Dinkel.
Also surviving, eight great-grandchildren, Cristin, Shannon and Brittney Fager, Dylan and Colton Scoby, Dalton, Taylor and Landon Dinkel; four step great-grandchildren, Cesar Rameriz, Sergio Rameriz, Jennifer Green and Sarah Green; two great-great-grandchildren, Reanna Green and Jordan Banejos.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Staab and Lillian Staab; a son-in-law, Norman Dinkel; four brothers, Ralph, Joseph, LeRoy and Ernest Graf; and a sister, Wilhemina Walters.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Catherine; burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. A Christian Mothers rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, followed by a vigil service at 7, all at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Catherine Cemetery, in care of the funeral home.
