G. BABB DEAD.
G. Babb, aged seventy years, died Sunday at his home on Bellevue and Eighth. Death was due to la grippe, from which he suffered but a brief time. The funeral was held at the home, 1016 Bellevue, yesterday afternoon, at 3 o’clock. Interment was made in Galena cemetery.

Matthew married Julia on October 9, 1854, in Hardeman County, Tennessee.
Some of their children were (Julia reported, in the 1900 census, that she had given birth to 10 children, 5 of whom were living):
Margaret A Babb Adams Gatton, born November 1860 in Tennessee, married first Wilson, second Adams, third Gatton from whom she divorced, buried as Margaret A Adams, died in Tulsa, Oklahoma, October 28, 1951 at home of her son Lloyd. (FG Memorial 55223380).
Basil G Babb, born December 11, 1862 in Bolivar, Tennessee, died November 10, 1939 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma.
Irena Arcadia (Ada) Babb, born February 1865 in Kentucky. Irena married 3 times: first to George Flick in 1888; second to Jesse A James in 1908; third to John M Abney in 1912. (FG Memorial 28273024).
George W Babb, born March 13, 1867, died December 19, 1934 in Payette, Idaho. (FG Memorial 17149689).
David S Babb, born about 1870 in Missouri, died November 9, 1934, in Inyo County, California. (FG Memorial 14907842.)
